Haven help

  • Today and the target rangeHaven

Finding your way around. Haven has twelve areas: Today, Run, Coach, Track, Plan, Records, Experiments, Doctor, People I Care For, Research, Tasks, and Settings. On a phone the bar at the bottom shows Today, Run, Coach and Track, and "All areas" opens the rest. On a wider screen all twelve sit in the bar.

What Today shows. Today is Haven's home screen. At the top are three buttons: Start Run, Log Food and Ask Coach. Start Run begins a run in one tap. Below them is the Run card, then the one next best action for today — press "Why?" to see the reason and the data it was based on. Then your maintenance dashboard: your 7-day and 14-day average weight, the trend, your target range, your latest weigh-in, today's calorie, protein and fiber targets and saturated-fat ceiling, and the status of your workouts, medications, blood pressure, labs, alcohol and any experiment. After a drink, a short note reads the next day in context. Today also shows your next task and, when it matters, a reminder about a doctor question or a lab.

What the target range and the trend words mean. Haven reads your weight as a trend, not a single day, because one day's number moves for many reasons — water, salt, a late meal, a hard workout, a drink. "Drifting up" or "Drifting down" describes the recent trend; "Above range" or "Below range" compares it with your range. A one-day change never moves a target. Your daily targets start as provisional estimates and settle as Haven learns your trend. You can set your own protein floor, fiber floor, saturated-fat ceiling and calorie starting point in Settings › Your maintenance numbers; a value you have not set is marked as Haven's default.

Logging on Track. Track is for what happened today. It has tabs for Food, Weight, Workout, Blood pressure, Medication and Lab. Food opens on the camera: take a photo of your meal and Haven estimates it. Or tap "Same as yesterday", your usual meal, a saved meal, or scan a barcode — or say or type what you ate. Each tab has one button to save, and the date and time default to now.

Step-by-step instructions for each kind of entry are in "How to log a reading".

Planning ahead. Plan is for what you decide in advance: this week's meals and Sunday prep, a training week, and planning around a drink. Alcohol planning lets you set how many drinks you intend to have, plan dinner and hydration, and see what tomorrow may look like. It is private and without judgment, and Haven never says any amount of alcohol is safe.

Where things appear. What you log shows on Today and in Records. Runs recorded with the Haven phone companion arrive from Health Connect on your phone; other readings you log yourself.

  • How to log a readingHaven

How do I log a blood-pressure reading? Open Track and choose the Blood pressure tab. Sit quietly for five minutes with your feet flat and your arm supported at heart level, then take two readings a minute apart. Enter Reading 1 systolic and diastolic (the top and bottom numbers), and Reading 2 — Haven averages the pair. Choose Morning or Evening, tick anything that might have moved the number (caffeine, alcohol last night, exercise, stress), and press "Log reading". You will see the pair's average. Morning and evening for seven days gives your doctor a home average; Records › Blood pressure shows your 7-day, morning and evening averages and a "Summarize for my doctor" button.

How do I log my weight? Open Track, choose the Weight tab, enter your weight — body fat % is optional — and press "Log weight".

How do I log a meal? Open Track — the Food tab opens first. Press "Take a photo of your meal", then "Log from photo". Haven shows what it thinks is on the plate, a calorie range, protein, fiber and saturated fat, and how sure it is. If it asks "Is this close?", type the correction and press "Fix it" — the same meal is updated, not logged twice. You can also tap "Same as yesterday", your usual meal or a saved meal, scan a barcode, or say or type what you ate. To make a meal one tap next time, name it and press "Save this meal".

How do I log a workout? Open Track, choose the Workout tab, enter what you did and how long it took, and press "Log workout". For a run, use Start Run on Today instead — Haven records it and tells you what it means for the rest of the day.

How do I add a medication or a lab result? Open Track and choose the Medication tab ("Add medication") or the Lab tab, fill in the fields and save. Lab values are saved with the date you took them. Log each dose of a medication on Records › Medications.

The date and time of an entry default to now.

  • Coaches and Doctor prepHaven

Your coaching team. The Coach screen lists one coach for each area of your health: the Maintenance Coach (your maintenance status and weight trend), the Nutrition Coach (calorie, protein, fiber and saturated-fat targets from your trend), Food logging (meals from words, with how sure the estimate is), the Fitness Planner (weekly cardio, walking, strength and recovery that protect muscle), Exercise & Recovery, Blood Pressure, Cardiometabolic Risk (LDL, non-HDL and ApoB, and questions for your clinician), the Medication Assistant, Alcohol Impact, the Experiment Designer, the Research Interpreter and Doctor Prep. Open the chat to ask a question about your own record; the right coach answers and says what the answer rests on. Family-Care Assistant and Substance Impact are shown as previews and are not live.

Doctor prep. Open the Doctor area. It starts with a visit summary compiled from your own record — medications, weight trend, home blood pressure, lab values and any experiment you are running — then your questions: press "Generate questions" to have Haven write them from your medications, labs and blood pressure, or add your own. Each suggested question has "Why this question?". When you add a visit, Haven builds its prep; afterwards you can note what the doctor said, any medication change, lab orders and follow-ups, and Haven turns them into tasks. You can copy a summary for yourself, one for your doctor, and a draft message for your patient portal. Haven does not send anything to your doctor; you take it with you.

Medications, blood pressure and labs. Records shows each medication with whether today's dose is logged, how this week has gone, refills coming up and any side effects you recorded; if you take a GLP medication it also tracks your appetite and cravings against usual. Blood pressure shows your 7-day, morning and evening averages. Labs show each marker as a trend with what it means — LDL, non-HDL and ApoB are the main risk levers, and HDL is read as a marker, not a number to push up.

What Haven will not do. Haven does not diagnose any condition, and it never tells you to start, stop or change a medication or a dose. A question about a medication belongs with the clinician who prescribed it. Haven is not an emergency service: if you feel unwell right now, call your local emergency number or your doctor. When you first set Haven up, you confirm "I understand Haven is not medical advice."

Experiments and research. The Experiments area turns a health idea into a personal experiment with a start, an end, what to track and when to stop; a running experiment shows on Today, and you can check in and review it. The Research area reads an idea or a question — for example "Should I try a cold plunge?" — and says how strong the evidence is, how far it applies to you, the risks, and what to ask your doctor, with a button to turn it into an experiment.

People I Care For. You can add a parent, partner or child and switch to their space; while you do, every screen says whose records you are looking at, and their records never mix with yours.

  • Signing in and your accountHaven

Signing in. Sign in with your Memriq email and password, or press "Continue with Google". Haven uses your Memriq account, so the same account works across Memriq's apps — but each app decides separately who it lets in.

What the sign-in messages mean. "That email and password don't match" means the password was wrong. "Too many attempts — try again in 15 minutes" means sign-in is paused for that account for a short while. A message that starts "Your Memriq account is fine —" means your password was right and Haven itself has not let you in yet: "you're on Haven's waiting list" means you are on the list and will be let in when your turn comes. Haven is in early access and lets people in a few at a time.

Exporting your data. In Settings, press "Export my data" to download what Haven holds about you. Settings also holds your notifications, how far Haven may act on its own, your connected phone, and your maintenance numbers.

Installing Haven on a phone. Haven runs in the browser. Open it in your phone's browser and use the browser's "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" option; it then opens like an app, and works on a folding phone's inner and outer screens.

Your record is yours. Every record in Haven belongs to the person who logged it, and another account cannot read it. The support chat can only help with your own record.
